| FAQs | Q: How does the shower filtration technology work? A: The shower filter utilises two filtration media: KDF-55 and Chlorgon. KDF-55 is a copper-zinc media designed to remove chlorine and heavy metals. Chlorgon is a proprietary and patented filtration media, and it works by converting chlorine into chloride. Chlorgon works in a very similar manner to KDF-55 but is much more efficient in high temperatures, making it an ideal media for shower water filtration. Q: What contaminants does the shower filter reduce? A: The shower filter will reduce chlorine, heavy metals (such as lead and mercury), odour, sulphur smell, rust, and scale. It will also moderately reduce sediment. Q: Does the shower filter work like a softener? A: Not exactly. A softener removes only hard water minerals, like calcium and iron. A shower filter is designed to remove dangerous chemical contaminants and heavy metals. If you have used a softener before, you may have noticed that your skin feels slippery after showering. That is because a softener adds salt to your water as a part of the hard water reduction process, and it makes the soap harder to rinse off of your skin. The shower filter will not add any salt, so the soap will still rinse off easily and leave your skin feeling soft and clean. Q: Does the shower filter soften the water? A: The shower filter will not soften water in the way a traditional softener does, but it will remove chlorine and other chemical contaminants, making the water much less harsh and leaving your skin and hair feeling significantly softer. Q: Does the shower filter work on well or tank water? A: The shower filter will work on well water and will remove sulphur odour and scale, as well as moderately reducing excess sediment in the water. It will also remove chlorine and other chemicals that may have been used to treat the well or tank water. Q: Will the shower filter reduce water pressure? A: The shower filters are certified to process water at 10 litres per minute, which is the same flow regulation as a most standard shower heads. All deliveries will be sent by Courier Post from our warehouse premises in West Auckland, for a standard fee of $10 per order (for orders under $150). If ordered after lunchtime, or on a weekend, the parcel will leave the next business day.
Orders over $150.00 are sent free of charge.
- Deliveries within Auckland will be delivered within 1 - 3 business days.
- Within the North Island they can be expected within 2 - 4 business days.
- Deliveries within South Island can be expected within business 4 - 6 business days.
- For Rural deliveries please add an additional day.
